And what a year it has been. We now have 3 collections with a fourth on its way. We attended IJL where we learnt a lot from retailers, buyer and other jewellery designers. Saxons of Oxford is now stocked by 9 retailers including notonthehighstreet.com and Wolf & Badger (coming soon). Across social media we have a following of over 3000 people, our biggest achievement over the past year has been featuring in British Vogue. If we can achieve all this in just one year, just think where we will be this time next year.
To celebrate it only seemed right to bake some cake. We managed to make little chocolate wax seals using melted chocolate and the brass stamp (and a little ice) which we placed on top of chocolate sponge and white butter icing cupcakes. Yes they did taste as good as they look!
If you have a metal stamp and want have a go at making your own wax seal chocolates. Melt the chocolate and leave for about 10 minutes or until it is not as runny. Put a small spoonful of melted chocolate onto greaseproof paper. Place the stamp in some ice until it's very cold, remove the excess water by dabbing the stamp onto kitchen paper. Press the stamp into the chocolate and leave for 5-7 seconds lightly press down and remove from the chocolate. Repeat the process for each wax seal. Don't forget to send in your attempts over on twitter to @saxonsofoxford, we'd love to see how they turn out.
